The fortified city of Jaipur, a UNESCO World Heritage City is one of the main pillars of the famous Golden Triangle of Indian tourism, Delhi, and Agra being the other two pillars. Famous for its architecture, colorful gems, culture, cuisine, and several palaces and forts scattered across the city, Jaipur is one of the major tourist destinations in South Asia. The city was founded in 1727 by the king Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of modern Jaipur.
