- Orchha is a medieval town established by King Rudra Pratap in 1531 AD, on a seasonal island on the confluence of Betwa and Jamni River. Kind Rudra Pratap is also credited for building the Orchha Fort, while the Chaturbhuj Temple was built by Ganesh Kunwar, the Queen of Orchha. The most notable monument in the fort complex is the Raj Mandir, built-in 16th century by King Madhukar Shah. Other major tourist attractions in Orchha are the Ram Raja Temple, The Jahangir Mahal, the Uth Khana (Royal Camel Shelter), and the numerous cenotaphs by the Betwa River.
